The spaghetti bolognese that i had eaten, which i had chosen to be the dish that i would modify, consists of normal spaghetti noodles, frozen peas and carrots, a few thin stripes of chicken meat and lastly, a very thick brown sauce. This dish is unhealthy because of a few reasons. Firstly, the vegetables, peas and carrots are frozen and preserved, thus will be replaced in the modified dish with fresh celery and carrots. Secondly, the normal spaghetti noodles will be replaced with wholemeal noodles that provides fewer calories and more fibre than refined pasta. Lastly, the brown sauce used in the dish i have eaten will be modified and made more healthily into a sauce cooked using tomato sauce and organic herbs like oregano and rosemary.

REFLECTIONS
Reflecting on my diet and my practical test, i have realised that i need a greater intake on calcium as calcium is a mineral impoortant for strong bones and teeth. I have also learnt that unhealthy food can be easily modified to transform into a healthy but yet still good-tasting at the same time. Sometimes, it may even be even better tasting. Despite my recorded 3-day diet, i believe that i have been able to maintain a healthy food life. I ensure that a maintain a balanced diet by eating vegetables and meat proportionally. Furthermore, even though the prefect intake of water per day is 8 cups, i drink water at a range from 3-6 cups per day. However, this is just excess information that is not provided in the 3-day diet table.
